Venus Raj: Philippines’ Miss Universe 2010 Bet

In four days, the 2010 Miss Universe will be crowned. Philippines’ bet, Venus Raj is competing against beauties from other countries around the world. Venus is said to be one of the favorites this year, giving some hope that she may bring home the Ms. Universe crown since Margie Moran in 1973 and Gloria Diaz in 1969.

Maria Venus Raj (born 07 July 1988) was crowned Binibining Pilipinas – Universe on 29 March 2010. However, her Binibining Pilipinas victory was surrounded by controversies involving alleged inconsistencies in the documents she presented during the preliminaries. She was dethroned but later on reinstated as Philippines’ Miss Universe representative.

The Miss Universe Beauty Pageant began in 1952; and, it is participated by beauties from between 75 and 85 countries around the world. Voting at Miss Universe‘s official website is ongoing and Venus Raj is currently among those with the highest rating. 2010 Miss Universe Coronation night will happen on 23 Aug 2010 (EST) at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas and will be aired locally via ABS-CBN in August 24 (Tuesday), 9:30 AM with a primetime telecast the same day on Studio 23 at 9:30 PM and on Velvet (SkyCable Ch. 53) at 6:30 PM.
