			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p></p><p>It&#8217;s 2012 and it seems like there are quite a lot of movies lined up for showing this January 2012. We&#8217;re seeing movies from Tom Cruise and Robert Downey Jr&#8211;Mission Impossible and Sherlock Homes respectively which would have been shown last December if not for the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF 2011). </p>
<p>Some MMFF entries are still showing in cinemas such as, Enteng ng Ina Mo and Segunda Mano. No, I&#8217;m not going to include a snippet of the two aforementioned MMFF 2011 movies. Let&#8217;s focus on the three foreign films- Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, Sherlock Homes A Game of Shadows and Alvin and the Chipmunks 3.</p>

We have known Aria as one of the four pretty girls who share the same dark secrets with Hannah, Emily and Spencer and her darkest secret is her relationship with Ezra, her English professor. We know that the law forbids a teacher to have a relationship with his or her student, but it was really not their fault to accidentally fall in love with each other. For long, a lot of viewers of Pretty Little Liars became fan of “Ezria”, the combination of Ezra and Aria’s names, but aside from being a fan favorite, we also found out that it’s also a baby name favorite. We are not pertaining to the name “Ezria”, but Ezra and Aria have become two of the most popular names for newly born baby boys and girls.</p>

Ezra is being played by the TV actor Ian Harding while Aria’s role is being played by Lucy Hale. They are two of the fan favorite characters in the hit drama TV show and you can see them once more in <a href="http://www.prettylittleliarsonmegavideo.com/" target="_blank">Pretty Littler Liars Season 2 Episode 14</a>, the next episode which is scheduled for airing on January 2, 2012. Aria is derived from the Italian term which means Air while Ezra is a Hebrew word which means “aid”. Also included in the list of the top baby names for 2011 are Finn (Cory Monteith) and Quinn (Diana Agron), two of the popular characters in the hit musical comedy TV series “Glee”.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p></p><p style="text-align: justify">It was just about two months ago when The Vampire Diaries had a season break and ended in the ninth episode of Season 3 but there are already a lot of predictions and speculations coming out when it regards to those who will not be joining the cast anymore on the next episode.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify">The most disturbing issue about who’s not going to move on in the next episode leads to the character of <a href="http://vampirediaries.wikia.com/wiki/Klaus" target="_blank">Klaus</a>. Joseph Morgan says that he thinks Klaus is not going to make it on the next episodes and that his character will be killed in the middle of season 3 as the continuation of <a title="The Vampire Diaries Season 3 Episode 10: The New Deal" href="http://www.thevampirediariesmegavideo.com/the-vampire-diaries-season-3-episode-10-the-new-deal/" target="_blank">episode 10: The New Deal</a>.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify"><img class="alignright size-full wp-image-956" src="http://www.kumukutitap.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/Klaus-on-the-vampire-diaries-season-3-episode-10.jpg" alt="Klaus on the vampire diaries season 3 episode 10" width="300" height="237" />In the Vampire Diaries TV series, Klaus is a half-human and he was first mentioned in a conversation between Rose and Stefan warning him about the Originals. Klaus’ character is said to be the most hated and feared of all the Originals. Morgan thinks that he doesn’t think that Klaus would hang around the Mystic Grill, pretending to be nice with the rest of the human beings just like what Damon Salvatore did. We cannot deny the fact that it will sadden most of us if we will lose one half of Team Ripper, but that is exactly the point here: That if Klaus will already get implanted with a microchip which will make him fall in love with Elena Gilbert and prevent himself from killing people, then that’s the exact thing that happened in “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”, for those who can still remember.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify">Though it is hard for us to accept it, we must accept that there is a probability that Klaus’ character will no longer exist one of these days. We should be prepared for that. But does that also mean that it will already be the end of  <strong><a title="The Vampire Diaries" href="http://www.thevampirediariesmegavideo.com/" target="_blank">Vampire Diaries</a></strong>? Well, we still can’t say that. Anyway, it is Damon, Elena and Stefans’ characters most of the viewers tune in for so it doesn’t really matter if Klaus’ character comes out of the way. We’ll see what really happens in the next episodes of the hit suspense horror television show.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p></p><p>I attended a friend&#8217;s wedding two weeks ago where I was one of the secondary sponsors and because I was aiming to save up some money and was on my &#8220;kuripot&#8221; (thrifty) mode, I decided I should do my own make up.</p>
<p>I gathered all my makeup, which by the way, I did not realize I owned a lot, and then spent some time watching <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zff9mVSGoiI&amp;list=UUrKdCadbo4eN_toHMa4-FSA&amp;feature=plcp">MakeUpByTiffany</a> and <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YdeA5aVbYOA&amp;list=UUuYx81nzzz4OFQrhbKDzTng&amp;feature=plcp">Michelle Phan</a> Purple eye makeup tutorial on YouTube. I love these two Vloggers and I learned a lot just watching them. I recommend their video tutorials especially for makeup newbies like me.</p>
<p>Considering how noob I am, I must say, I did pretty well. My other friends were surprised when I said I did my make-up. I must admit though that I still need to practice putting on falsies. But overall, I was proud at how well it went.</p>

<p>Too bad I was not able to take a close up shot of my eye make-up since I was in a hurry and was afraid I&#8217;d be late. I was also a bit unsure of how the look will turnout. I promise that the next time I do my makeup, I&#8217;ll have a close-up shot. </p>

When I bought this the sales rep of Maybelline said this is good for oily skin types. I didn&#8217;t really think it controlled my oiliness, but I like how it matches my skin tone. So maybe I still need to find my foundation.</li>
<li><H4>Ellana Mineral Stick Concealer in Alive</H4><br />
I have a previous post on <a href="http://www.kumukutitap.com/2011/01/concealer-makeup-haul-elianto-careline-and-ellana-brands/" title="Concealer Makeup Haul: Elianto, Careline and Ellana Brands">three concealers that I tried</a>. So far, this is the product that I stuck with. It&#8217;s smooth, matches with the foundation and covers redness and spots really well.</li>
<li><H4>Maybelline Clear Smooth All in One Shine Free Cake Powder in Honey</H4><br />
I&#8217;ve tried the other two Clear Smooth variant (the green and light blue), but so far this is the one that I really like. It does not look &#8220;cakey&#8221; and does a better job with the oiliness. Not a &#8220;stand alone product though. Worked well with the Gel foundation. For everyday use, this product is good.</li>

<li><H4>Nichido False Eye Lashes</H4><br />
Sorry, I forgot the number code. I cut out the box and I can&#8217;t find it anymore. Nichido has a wide variety of falsies to choose from. I used the one that looked &#8220;natural&#8221;. It was my first time to use a falsies. Good thing Michelle Phan uses falsies in some of her tutorials I got some really nice pointers. I still need a lot of practice though.</li>
<li><H4>Nichido Eyeliner</H4><br />
I&#8217;ve been using this since College. It&#8217;s a nice product for the eyebrows. It&#8217;s nice for filling and shaping the brows. Very affordable too.</li>
<li><H4>Elianto Color Studio Eye Shadow</H4><br />
Used the purple lilac shade because it&#8217;s a pretty light shade that contrasts the deep plum eye pencil. I got this from Earthligorgeous&#8217; blog contest. I rarely use this makeup, but it&#8217;s really nice.</li>
<li><H4>The BodyShop Shimmer Cubes</H4><br />
I got this shimmer cube from one of The BodyShop&#8217;s events. Really loved that the cube has four shades-emerald sea, sea shell, hushed orchid (this is the lilac color I used), and the sparkling sky.</li>
<li><H4>Maybelline Hyper Diamond Eye Color Pallet</H4><br />
This pallet has a lot of glitters in it. Had to use mix it up with the Elianto and The BodyShop eyeshadows just to balance the eye makeup.</li>
<li><H4>Maybelline Eye Studio Gel Eyeliner</H4><br />
Dramatic eyes are really nice. But for this makeup, I used the gel liner to hide the edge of the falsies. It worked really well.</li>
<li><H4>Maybelline the Hyper Curl Volume Express Mascara</H4><br />
I really did not need a lot of mascara since I used a false lashes. But had to use one just to curl my lashes and make them appear like they&#8217;re a part of the falsies.</li>

To prep lips before putting lipstick, I use this lip balm. I also use this before I sleep to keep my lips soft. It&#8217;s a minty balm so it tingles a bit.</li>
<li><H4>Ever Bilena Matte Lipstick in Mauvey</H4><br />
I&#8217;m all about matte lipstick these days. One tip I got from watching makeup tutorials is to wear a nude or pale lip color when the eye makeup is a bit intense. This shade is a bit too pale for me so I add lip gloss to add definition.</li>
<li><H4>Nichido Starlight Lip Color in Galaxy</H4><br />
Looks nice with the Mauvey lipstick. It adds a bit more color and shine. And since the lipstick is Matte, the gloss is just subtle.</li>
</ul>
<p>You may have noticed that I have a lot of Nichido and Maybelline products. That is only because I find them very affordable. I know that there are other products that I have not tried yet but since what I have now still works for me, I might as well stick with them until I&#8217;ve consumed them all. </p>
<p>If you&#8217;re like me and you don&#8217;t want to spend so much, the affordable brands are, I think okay. Some may argue that the expensive brands are much better, but I&#8217;d say it will still depend on how &#8220;hiyang&#8221; one&#8217;s skin is with the product. As I always say, some products that worked for me may not work for the others so it&#8217;s always better to know and understand your skin type to prevent any breakouts.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p></p><p>It&#8217;s my birthday! And there&#8217;s a lot to be thankful for on this day. </p>
<p>I&#8217;m alive for another year and it&#8217;s enough to be greatful for the 28 years that passed. It was a bit of a whirlwind letting me experience a myriad of emotions, which are happy, exciting, disappointing and, yes, depressing. Things don&#8217;t always go my way but I am happy for every learning experiences I have had. Who said growing up was easy anyway? I&#8217;m a bit emotional, you know what they say when you get old? Hehe.</p>
<p>Few weeks before my birthday, I had a cheesy realization about my existence. You see, if you do the math, you can conclude that November celebrants are most likely conceived sometime in February, what we consider the love month. I realized that, my father&#8217;s love for my mother must have been in its peak when they conceived me&#8230; It was such a reassuring, heart-warming thought. </p>
<p>Anyway, I got the idea of leading my friends to post their birthday greetings to me in my own website from a friend and a co-SEO.org.ph member. I thought it was a brilliant idea. So you&#8217;re here now.</p>
<p>I am most thankful for all the people in my life, the family I grew up with and keep up with me, for all the friends I still have and the new ones I made. For the opportunities that allowed me to be a good sister and daughter. And the learnings I get each day.</p>
<p>I know the coming year year will not be any easier. But the journey is worthwhile because I&#8217;ve people to share the journey with&#8230;</p>
<p>Thanks for remembering my birthday. 28th (the birthday indicated on my birth certificate) or 29th (the birthday I grew up celebrating), it really doesn&#8217;t matter. Thank you for making this day more meaningful. =)</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p></p><p>I am not a runner. Not yet. But I would love to try it because of the health and social benefits it promises. So when I was invited to an event in <strong>Tagaytay Highlands</strong>, I immediately said yes. Not only because of the chance to go to Tagaytay Highlands, but also because I felt that it could be a start for me to get into running. It was a rainy Saturday morning when I met with my PR friends. Tagaytay welcomed us with a cool breeze of air and it&#8217;s breath-taking foggy streets. It was so refreshing to have spent my Saturday in Tagaytay</p>
<p>The event introduced to us was <strong>Nathan&#8217;s Ridge Run</strong> in partnership with <strong>Tagaytay Highlands</strong> which will happen this 20 November 2011. The main sponsor of this running event is <strong>Nathan Performance Gear</strong>, a world leader in innovative hydration and reflective gear, and multisport accessories. Mariel Flores, the brand associate for Nathan Performance Gear presented the concept to us. </p>
<p>I was the only lifestyle blogger among the attendees, they are all experienced &#8220;running&#8221; bloggers. They were &#8220;running-ready&#8221; and they looked so fit. They seemed to know each other very well and I can tell they&#8217;ve been together in several running events. </p>
<p>Mariel explained that <strong>Nathan&#8217;s Ridge</strong> Run is more of a challenge of of athleticism, endurance and environmental advocacy. What&#8217;s more, runners can enjoy &#8220;the breathtaking view of nature overlooking the lush greeneries of Tagaytay, an uphill road course through rolling hills, and never-before-opened running areas set the Nathan Ridge Run apart from the common fun run&#8221;. What sets this running event different from others is that they will not allow plastic cups during the run. They encourage participants to use their hydration gear, which will be included in the race kits.</p>
<p>She added that with <strong>Nathan&#8217;s Ridge Run</strong>, participants will be given access to previously off-limits tracks, resulting in a fresh, challenging and steep uphill road course meant to push the limits of each runner. While in the venue, runners can also take advantage of several exclusive perks, including access to some of Highlands’ amenities and discounts. </p>
<p>To make the upcoming event more exciting for the bloggers, we were invited to experience the route. Of course, as I just attended that event in my chucks and jeans, I opted to just stay in the car and took pictures of the runners. Deep inside I was actually feeling a bit envious. But then again I was also living an unhealthy lifestyle so I was challenging myself to get physically fit so I can join them next time.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p></p><p>In the age where 3D is the in thing, I must say, I am a bit aged. I say this because I do not enjoy 3D as much as other people. I don&#8217;t feel comfortable wearing 3D glasses and I&#8217;m not sure if it&#8217;s because of my near-sightedness. I also feel dizzy and my head aches when I look at anything 3D.</p>
<p>Until I was introduced to the <strong>LG Optimus 3D</strong>, the first 3D smartphone that I&#8217;ve seen. LG claims that it is the first full 3D smartphone powered by a <strong>Tri-Dual Technology</strong>, which refers to the three main features Optimus 3D highlights namely: <em>Dual Core Processor</em>, <em>Dual Channel Function</em> and <em>Dual Memory</em>.</p>

<p>What does the Tri-Dual Technology mean, and what&#8217;s in it for the users? It means that with this configuration, users will be able to multi-task and enjoy mobile browsing with lag-free, quick response and better graphics from the smartphone.</p>
<p>I had the chance to try and experience this <strong>Optimus 3D</strong> and I must say, I was impressed for the following reasons:</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p></p><p>&#8216;You&#8217;ve got to find what you love,&#8217; Jobs says<br />
This is a prepared text of the Commencement address delivered by Steve Jobs, CEO of Apple Computer and of Pixar Animation Studios, on June 12, 2005.</p>
<p>I am honored to be with you today at your commencement from one of the finest universities in the world. I never graduated from college. Truth be told, this is the closest I&#8217;ve ever gotten to a college graduation. Today I want to tell you three stories from my life. That&#8217;s it. No big deal. Just three stories.</p>
<p>The first story is about connecting the dots.</p>
<p>I dropped out of Reed College after the first 6 months, but then stayed around as a drop-in for another 18 months or so before I really quit. So why did I drop out?</p>
<p>It started before I was born. My biological mother was a young, unwed college graduate student, and she decided to put me up for adoption. She felt very strongly that I should be adopted by college graduates, so everything was all set for me to be adopted at birth by a lawyer and his wife. Except that when I popped out they decided at the last minute that they really wanted a girl. So my parents, who were on a waiting list, got a call in the middle of the night asking: &#8220;We have an unexpected baby boy; do you want him?&#8221; They said: &#8220;Of course.&#8221; My biological mother later found out that my mother had never graduated from college and that my father had never graduated from high school. She refused to sign the final adoption papers. She only relented a few months later when my parents promised that I would someday go to college.</p>
<p>And 17 years later I did go to college. But I naively chose a college that was almost as expensive as Stanford, and all of my working-class parents&#8217; savings were being spent on my college tuition. After six months, I couldn&#8217;t see the value in it. I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life and no idea how college was going to help me figure it out. And here I was spending all of the money my parents had saved their entire life. So I decided to drop out and trust that it would all work out OK. It was pretty scary at the time, but looking back it was one of the best decisions I ever made. The minute I dropped out I could stop taking the required classes that didn&#8217;t interest me, and begin dropping in on the ones that looked interesting.</p>
<p>It wasn&#8217;t all romantic. I didn&#8217;t have a dorm room, so I slept on the floor in friends&#8217; rooms, I returned coke bottles for the 5¢ deposits to buy food with, and I would walk the 7 miles across town every Sunday night to get one good meal a week at the Hare Krishna temple. I loved it. And much of what I stumbled into by following my curiosity and intuition turned out to be priceless later on. Let me give you one example:</p>
<p>Reed College at that time offered perhaps the best calligraphy instruction in the country. Throughout the campus every poster, every label on every drawer, was beautifully hand calligraphed. Because I had dropped out and didn&#8217;t have to take the normal classes, I decided to take a calligraphy class to learn how to do this. I learned about serif and san serif typefaces, about varying the amount of space between different letter combinations, about what makes great typography great. It was beautiful, historical, artistically subtle in a way that science can&#8217;t capture, and I found it fascinating.</p>
<p>None of this had even a hope of any practical application in my life. But ten years later, when we were designing the first Macintosh computer, it all came back to me. And we designed it all into the Mac. It was the first computer with beautiful typography. If I had never dropped in on that single course in college, the Mac would have never had multiple typefaces or proportionally spaced fonts. And since Windows just copied the Mac, it&#8217;s likely that no personal computer would have them. If I had never dropped out, I would have never dropped in on this calligraphy class, and personal computers might not have the wonderful typography that they do. Of course it was impossible to connect the dots looking forward when I was in college. But it was very, very clear looking backwards ten years later.</p>
<p>Again, you can&#8217;t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something — your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life.</p>
<p>My second story is about love and loss.</p>
<p>I was lucky — I found what I loved to do early in life. Woz and I started Apple in my parents garage when I was 20. We worked hard, and in 10 years Apple had grown from just the two of us in a garage into a $2 billion company with over 4000 employees. We had just released our finest creation — the Macintosh — a year earlier, and I had just turned 30. And then I got fired. How can you get fired from a company you started? Well, as Apple grew we hired someone who I thought was very talented to run the company with me, and for the first year or so things went well. But then our visions of the future began to diverge and eventually we had a falling out. When we did, our Board of Directors sided with him. So at 30 I was out. And very publicly out. What had been the focus of my entire adult life was gone, and it was devastating.</p>
<p>I really didn&#8217;t know what to do for a few months. I felt that I had let the previous generation of entrepreneurs down &#8211; that I had dropped the baton as it was being passed to me. I met with David Packard and Bob Noyce and tried to apologize for screwing up so badly. I was a very public failure, and I even thought about running away from the valley. But something slowly began to dawn on me — I still loved what I did. The turn of events at Apple had not changed that one bit. I had been rejected, but I was still in love. And so I decided to start over.</p>
<p>I didn&#8217;t see it then, but it turned out that getting fired from Apple was the best thing that could have ever happened to me. The heaviness of being successful was replaced by the lightness of being a beginner again, less sure about everything. It freed me to enter one of the most creative periods of my life.</p>
<p>During the next five years, I started a company named NeXT, another company named Pixar, and fell in love with an amazing woman who would become my wife. Pixar went on to create the worlds first computer animated feature film, Toy Story, and is now the most successful animation studio in the world. In a remarkable turn of events, Apple bought NeXT, I returned to Apple, and the technology we developed at NeXT is at the heart of Apple&#8217;s current renaissance. And Laurene and I have a wonderful family together.</p>
<p>I&#8217;m pretty sure none of this would have happened if I hadn&#8217;t been fired from Apple. It was awful tasting medicine, but I guess the patient needed it. Sometimes life hits you in the head with a brick. Don&#8217;t lose faith. I&#8217;m convinced that the only thing that kept me going was that I loved what I did. You&#8217;ve got to find what you love. And that is as true for your work as it is for your lovers. Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven&#8217;t found it yet, keep looking. Don&#8217;t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you&#8217;ll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on. So keep looking until you find it. Don&#8217;t settle.</p>
<p>My third story is about death.</p>
<p>When I was 17, I read a quote that went something like: &#8220;If you live each day as if it was your last, someday you&#8217;ll most certainly be right.&#8221; It made an impression on me, and since then, for the past 33 years, I have looked in the mirror every morning and asked myself: &#8220;If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?&#8221; And whenever the answer has been &#8220;No&#8221; for too many days in a row, I know I need to change something.</p>
<p>Remembering that I&#8217;ll be dead soon is the most important tool I&#8217;ve ever encountered to help me make the big choices in life. <p>About a year ago I was diagnosed with cancer. I had a scan at 7:30 in the morning, and it clearly showed a tumor on my pancreas. I didn&#8217;t even know what a pancreas was. The doctors told me this was almost certainly a type of cancer that is incurable, and that I should expect to live no longer than three to six months. My doctor advised me to go home and get my affairs in order, which is doctor&#8217;s code for prepare to die. It means to try to tell your kids everything you thought you&#8217;d have the next 10 years to tell them in just a few months. It means to make sure everything is buttoned up so that it will be as easy as possible for your family. It means to say your goodbyes.</p>
<p>I lived with that diagnosis all day. Later that evening I had a biopsy, where they stuck an endoscope down my throat, through my stomach and into my intestines, put a needle into my pancreas and got a few cells from the tumor. I was sedated, but my wife, who was there, told me that when they viewed the cells under a microscope the doctors started crying because it turned out to be a very rare form of pancreatic cancer that is curable with surgery. I had the surgery and I&#8217;m fine now.</p>
<p>This was the closest I&#8217;ve been to facing death, and I hope it&#8217;s the closest I get for a few more decades. Having lived through it, I can now say this to you with a bit more certainty than when death was a useful but purely intellectual concept:</p>

Even people who want to go to heaven don&#8217;t want to die to get there.</a> And yet death is the destination we all share. No one has ever escaped it. And that is as it should be, because Death is very likely the single best invention of Life. It is Life&#8217;s change agent. It clears out the old to make way for the new. Right now the new is you, but someday not too long from now, you will gradually become the old and be cleared away. Sorry to be so dramatic, but it is quite true.</p>
<p>Your time is limited, so don&#8217;t waste it living someone else&#8217;s life. Don&#8217;t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people&#8217;s thinking. Don&#8217;t let the noise of others&#8217; opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.</p>
<p>When I was young, there was an amazing publication called The Whole Earth Catalog, which was one of the bibles of my generation. It was created by a fellow named Stewart Brand not far from here in Menlo Park, and he brought it to life with his poetic touch. This was in the late 1960&#8242;s, before personal computers and desktop publishing, so it was all made with typewriters, scissors, and polaroid cameras. It was sort of like Google in paperback form, 35 years before Google came along: it was idealistic, and overflowing with neat tools and great notions.</p>
<p>Stewart and his team put out several issues of The Whole Earth Catalog, and then when it had run its course, they put out a final issue. It was the mid-1970s, and I was your age. On the back cover of their final issue was a photograph of an early morning country road, the kind you might find yourself hitchhiking on if you were so adventurous. Beneath it were the words: &#8220;Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish.&#8221; It was their farewell message as they signed off. Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish. And I have always wished that for myself. And now, as you graduate to begin anew, I wish that for you.</p>
<p>Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish.</p>
